Blackpool Pleasure Beach New Ride First Look Shared!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach have shared our first official look at their new ride for 2026, Aviktas! The park have shared some new concept footage showing just how BIG the new ride will be once open.

The 138ft tall Intamin Gyro Swing, set to be the largest ride of it’s kind here in the UK will open to the public next year and will occupy the former Bowl-a-drome arcade spot which has now been cleared to make way for the park’s upcoming £8.72 million attraction.

In a groundbreaking new CGI generated footage fans of the park have also be treated to their first official look at how Aviktas will look operating at the park once complete, and it’s fair to say Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s skyline is about to change VERY dramatically!

The giant new pendulum ride will swing 120 degrees in either direction and can seat up to 40 riders per cycle. It’s also near twice the height of Maelstrom at Drayton Manor Resort (the UK’s current Intamin Gyro Swing) too with Maelstrom only standing at a total of 74ft.

Talking about Aviktas’ arrival at the park next year, Amanda Thompson OBE – CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach said;

“We’re known for going big at Pleasure Beach, and Aviktas is exactly that.”

“We hope by releasing this video, guests will be able to understand the mammoth scale of our new investment, and the huge impact it’ll have on our park and the industry as a whole. This ride will be colossal, daunting, exhilarating and an incredible addition to the town.”

Prior to its name reveal, Aviktas was referred to as ‘Project 2026’, until park bosses dropped its official name back in May.

Its reveal left fans scratching their heads, but the park insisted it was staying tight-lipped on how the ride will come to life.

Discussing Avikas further, Amanda added;

“This is the first small tease of what we have planned, there’s plenty more teasers on the way!”

“Keep an eye on our socials, as what may now seem mysterious, will eventually be revealed!”

Construction of the park’s latest new thrill ride is now well underway and with the site now clear of the former Bowl-A-Drome building we don’t expect it will be too much longer before more progress is made and the first footers for the ride go into place.

Aviktas is set to be a game changer for the park and stands testament to Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s ongoing mission to adapt and change with the times as our UK industry constantly evolves with the arrival of Universal Studios Great Britain in Bedfordshire by 2031.

We can’t wait to see Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s NEW 2026 ride go vertical over the coming months, but for now here’s a look at the official teaser shared by the park earlier this week!
