Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 – A Complete Guide
Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 is just around the corner and this year’s line up for the park’s annual Halloween extravaganza is looking even BIGGER & BETTER than ever!
Yesterday (Wednesday 20th August) Alton Towers Resort revealed the FINAL Scarefest addition for this year revealing everything families can look forward to from the park this Spooky Season.
2025 is set to see the return of fan favourites as well as the introduction of TWO chilling new attractions and a whole host of spooktacular family entertainment to boot.
But what WILL Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 offer and when will it all begin, let’s take a look…

Spooktacular Family Fun!
Let’s begin then by taking a closer look at what Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 offers for the little ones. This year is set to see the fabulous return of CBeebies Land Monster Ball – a spooky, family friendly Halloween party in the heart of the UK’s only CBeebies Land.
“Get the family Halloween costumes on and join some of your favourite CBeebies friends live in Big Fun Showtime! Watch as they dance, play games and learn all about spooky things in their spooktacular Monster Ball – featuring some top CBeebies friends like Bing, Ubercorn, and Peter Rabbit.”
Alongside this, 2025 will also see the return of last year’s highly acclaimed new family friendly scaremaze Amigos in the Afterlife as well as the highly popular Trick O Treat Town with Haribo & Maoam.
Amigos in the Afterlife first launched in 2024 and proved an instant hit with it’s Mexican themed Day of the Dead vibes, colourful sets and characters and overall family friendly feel.
The attraction sits inside the former Alton Towers Dungeon which closed to the public for the last time in July 2024 and has since remained closed with Amigos in the Afterlife occupying it’s spot.
“Step foot into a vibrant world this Scarefest, where the gap between this life and the next is at its thinnest! Be captivated by Dia de los Muertos celebrations, with its bright colours and festive spirits – but be careful, you’ve accidentally crossed through a portal into the afterlife…
“Guided by friendly spirits, you must find your way back to the world of the living. Journey through this magical realm of spooktacular effects for the ultimate family fright night fest activity. You’ll encounter mischievous characters along the way, who will challenge you and your family with tasks to earn your passage back to the living realm!”
It’s safe to say there’s plenty of spooky fun for younger guests and older guests alike this Alton Towers Scarefest without the need to shread every last nerve in your body haha.

Eerie Entertainment!
Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 is set to see the return of the resort’s iconic Freaky Friends – a collection of SEVEN spooky official mascots for Alton Towers Scarefest including last year’s newest additions Vampurr & Zombob.
Alongside this guests can expect to see the return of the highly popular fan favourite flashmob, the Alton Ancestors who’ll be performing their sinister groove around the park as the day goes on from the bottom of Towers Street to inside the Courtyard near HEX.
There will of course also be live entertainment for the little ones too inside CBeebies Land as part of this year’s CBeebies Land Monster Ball.

Creepy Scarezones (Included with Admission).
Scarezones are back for Alton Towers Scarefest 2025, but unlike previous year’s this year is set to see the arrival of TWO free to roam scarezones rather than just one.
2025 will see the return of Burial Grounds where the unchosen dwell luring unsuspecting victims into the friery frenzy of Beornen fueled rage.
As well as this, 2025 will also see the launch of a BRAND NEW scarezone too, Dark Hollow – a scarezone speculated to be connected to the mythos of the Dark Forest.
“The forest breathes, its ancient roots stirring restless and shadows flicker between hollow trees. Dark Hollow is a free-flowing outdoor scare zone where a chilling presence watches, waiting to draw you deeper into the darkness. Can you escape the forest’s grasp before it claims you too?”
Both scarezones are as mentioned previously free to roam and are included as standard with park admission meaning there’s more to enjoy this year around the park without the need for an upcharge.

Chilling Scaremazes (Upcharge on Admission)!
Indoor Scaremazes are BACK for 2025 and this year there’s quite a bit of change to the line up from previous years.
Firstly, Darkest Depths & The Attic: Terror of the Towers will NOT be returning for Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 (we know right, rejoice haha, although we did love The Attic not going to lie).
As well as this, no mention has been made of Daz Games: PANIC making it’s return either meaning the cutting edge, interactive experience created by the legendary YouTuber Daz Black has been canned after a short run of just two years at the park (we’re not sorry to see it go, we’ll be honest).
This therefore means that Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 will feature THREE indoor scaremazes – Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny’s Revenge, Compound & NEW for 2025 – Edge of the Forest, a chilling new scaremaze from the mythos behind the Dark Forest.
“Whispers wind through the withered woods at the edge of the Dark Forest, where a forgotten cottage stands as the last remnant of a forgotten time. Locals speak of the Leshwall, a lurking presence that twists the trees and plays tricks on the mind.”
“Ignore the warnings and step inside this live-action scare maze, but be warned – the vines twist, the forest shifts with every step, and you’re never alone.”
All three are an upcharge of general admission and are located different locations throughout the park. Compound behind The Curse at Alton Manor, Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny’s Revenge in the lower part of the Towers and Edge of the Forest in the former spot occupied by Darkest Depths (which let’s face it, never felt right being there so far away from Mutiny Bay).

Thrilling Night Rides!
Now then, as if all of that wasn’t enough Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 also provides guests with the chance to experience all of their favourite rides and attractions after nightfall too.
Rides such as Nemesis Reborn, The Smiler, Th13teen and Toxicator all take on a completely different life of their own as darkness falls giving a totally different perspective to all who ride.
The park’s immersive lighting also helps set the mood too and captures the eerie vibes of Halloween perfectly as you make your way around the resort!

The ‘Not So Fun’ Nitty Gritty…
So, firstly, when does Alton Towers Scarefest 2025 begin? This year’s spooktacular Halloween event kicks off on Saturday 27th September (one week earlier than traditionally due to no Alton Towers Oktoberfest).
The event runs as part of general admission (with the exception of the paid for attractions) on select dates through until November 2nd (check the park’s official website for FULL details HERE).
Scaremazes also come at an additional cost and can be booked either via the park’s official website or app either before your visit or on the day and start at £14.00 each for attraction solos and £38.00 pp for the Thrills Combi ticket or £55.00 pp for the All Maze Ticket (Thrills & Family).
Annual pass holders do of course qualify for discounted rates and as such these are as follows; £11.20 – £12.80 for solo tickets, £30.40 for the Thrills Combi & £44.00 for the All Maze bundle.
Each ticket or bundle also comes with it’s own T&C’s so be sure to check these properly before visiting on the day to ensure you understand how your tickets work.
