Blackpool Pleasure Beach Announce NEW Ride For 2026!
Blackpool Pleasure Beach have announced a MAJOR new ride is coming to the park for 2026! Project MMXXVI was officially unveiled this morning as part of the park’s 2025 season launch.
Today’s announcement by Blackpool Pleasure Beach not only puts to bed all rumours of the park potentially adding a major new thrilling flat ride to the park, but also confirms WHERE said ride will be going.
The new £8.72 million thrill ride, an Intamin Gyro Swing will take the spot of the park’s former Bowl-A-Drome arcade and will seat up to 40 riders per cycle.
Blackpool’s latest thrill ride is also set to reach heights of up to 138 ft (nearly double the height of Maelstrom at Drayton Manor Resort which is 74 ft tall & currently the UK’s only one), will swing a full 120 degrees and will be tallest ride of it’s kind in the UK once open.

Although not much is really known about what the theme of this new ride will be just yet, today’s teaser features a golden colour scheme, a serpent with emerald green eyes and a modern stylised font.
Speaking about their upcoming new multi-million pound thrill ride, Amanda Thompson OBE – CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort states;
“We’re thrilled to confirm the addition of a Gyro Swing at Pleasure Beach Resort, with work already underway. We’re well known for doing things on a large scale, so becoming home to the largest Gyro Swing in the UK made complete sense.
“The Gyro Swing is one of the most exciting flat rides in existence – it’s dynamic, fast, and incredibly high, as well as being completely weightless at the top. It will be a fantastic addition to our ride line-up and we can’t wait to see people’s reactions when they experience it for the first time.
“We’ll be announcing more details soon and we’re very excited for the future at Pleasure Beach Resort.”
Today’s announcement of their new 2026 ride comes following a recent jibe at Thorpe Park resort during Hyperia’s opening day when the park sent a digital van down to the park’s entrance stating “We’ll just have to come up with something else then, won’t we?”
Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s new Intamin Gyro Swing surpasses most current operating thrilling flat rides here in the UK by quite some height making it one of the UK’s tallest (if not the tallest) when open next year.

Preparation on the new ride’s construction has also already begun too with construction walls visible around the entire site during Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s opening day.
During today’s season launch the park also revealed more about what else we can expect to see from their 2025 season throughout the year too including an opening date of Spring 2025 for Launch Pad (the newly reimagined Ice Blast), the addition of BRAND NEW scenes inside Wallace & Gomit’s Thrill-O-Matic taken from 2024’s new animated feature film “Vengeance Most Fowl” and the arrival of a newly re-imagined River Caves later this season too.
With all of this in mind it’s fair to say 2025 is set to be quite an exciting year, and with 2026 not too far away next year will really take the park’s consecutive season into ‘full swing’ when Project MMXXVI opens to the public next year.
An exact opening date is however still yet to be announced for Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s new ride, but we’ll be sure to keep you all up to date as soon as more information or news becomes available. Subscribe to our blog now to avoid missing out.
