Efteling Reopen Iconic Ride Following An Extensive Refurb!
Efteling have reopened one of their most iconic rides today (Thursday 13th November 2025) following an extensive refurb.
Baron 1898 – Efteling’s beloved B&M Dive Coaster closed two month ago to allow for the attraction to undergo a full refurbishment and update.
The roller coaster opened at Efteling back in 2015 and has since become a firm favourite with nearly all who visit the park.
The ride is also one of the most immersively themed (and visually impressive) roller coasters in Europe and stands proud among the park’s many other rides and attractions as one of their best!
Efteling closed Baron 1898 back in September though to allow teams to carry out extensive work on both the ride’s appearance and it’s internal works too including a full update of the ride’s operational software.

Work undertaken also includes a full repaint of Baron 1898’s track and supports, work inside the station itself (no specific details of what has been completed was shared) and a general refresh of the ride area too.
As much as Efteling continue to expand and improve areas within the park itself it’s highly likely the works will have been carried out in readiness for the introduction of the park’s NEW 2026 attraction – Hoogmoed, which is set to open next to Baron 1898’s Immelmann Loop next year.
Along with a collection of official shots showing the newly refurbished ride, Efteling theme park resort also shared the following statement;
“After more than two months of major maintenance, the station has been renovated, the track has been completely cleaned and repainted, and the technology is completely up-to-date again. Will you come for a ride again soon?”
Baron 1898 is now available to ride again as part of general admission, and with Efteling also set to reimagine their Raveleijn show (and area) for 2026 too it’s clear that this fantastic Netherlands based family theme park are doing all they can to keep up with the times and keep visitor experience fresh and current wherever possible.
Will YOU be taking a ride on the newly refurbished roller coaster over the next few weeks? If so, what are your expectations for the changes? Let us know in the comments below…
