Pleasurewood Hills Announce Wipeout 2.0 For 2025!
Pleasurewood Hills have announced Wipeout 2.0 is coming for 2025! The much loved family theme park located in Lowestoft, UK are currently giving the park’s classic Vekoma Boomerang coaster a complete re-imagining for the new season.
The park first announced the project on March 06th revealing a first look at the newly repainted ride along with the reveal that Wipeout was currently undergoing a major refurbishment.
Wipeout (formerly known as The Missile at the now defunct American Adventure theme park) first opened at Pleasurewood Hills in 2007 and has wowed and thrilled visitors of all ages, but with continued operation comes wear and tear.
The park are therefore not only giving the track a full repaint but they are also upgrading the ride’s current operating system too and along with all of this, Pleasurewood Hills have revealed something extra special will be added to the ride too prior to opening.

Along with some updated images showing the current state of the newly repainted ride, Pleasurewood Hills also made another big announcement too!;
“The work on Wipeout carries on with more exciting developments, including a new photo service and the highly anticipated news… the addition of a new train”
The brand new ride train is set to utilise a waist restraint system aka. lap bars instead of the ride’s former over the shoulder collar style restraints (known for being incredibly uncomfortable).
“Swapping shoulder for waist restraints this will bring a completely new thrilling dynamic to this landmark attraction”
The Looping Group (the current owners and operators of Pleasurewood Hills & Drayton Manor Resort) have also recently re-imagined another iconic roller coaster too bringing brand new, sit down trains (also featuring lap bars) to Drayton Manor Resort’s 1994 Intamin stand up roller coaster re-branding it – The Wave for 2024!
The new sit down trains are not only incredibly comfortable, but the new lap bar restraints allow for a greater sense of freedom during the ride making The Wave much more re-rideable than it’s predecessor.
With this in mind new lap bar trains on Wipeout will undoubtedly transform the existing ride experience into something very different and far more thrilling. This should also make Wipeout much more re-rideable too.
Wipeout’s transformation comes following ongoing investment into Pleasurewood Hills by the Looping Group to breathe new life into the iconic family theme park including the recent re-imagining of the park’s much loved mascot last year.

No information regarding who has manufactured Wipeout’s new ride trains has yet been announced, but given the above images we do wonder who it could be as these don’t look stereo typically Vekoma in nature.
Along with this no reopening date has been announced for Wipeout either, but we’d hope the iconic roller coaster manages to reopen for the park’s opening day given the fact Pleasurewood Hills initially announced the ride “is getting a major refurbishment ahead of the 2025 season”
Regardless, as soon as further news regarding an opening date for Wipeout 2.0 is announced we’ll be sure to share it here first on Theme Park Insanity. Subscribe to our blog now to avoid missing out!
