Blackpool Pleasure Beach Set To Boradcast From Space!
Blackpool Pleasure Beach are set to reach new heights (literally) as they become the FIRST EVER theme park to broadcast real messages from space!
As part of their world’s first attempt the park are inviting members of the public to submit messages they’d like to see broadcast from space.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s mission to reach new heights comes as they re-launch their iconic S&S Worldwide shot tower Launch Pad (formerly known as Playstation the ride and Ice Blast) earlier this season.
The park have announced they will partner with a specialist team of scientists to deliver a uniquely designed screen to the edge of space where messages sent in by fans will be broadcast out into the great beyond.
This history making mission is the latest daring PR stunt set out by Blackpool Pleasure Beach following their earlier stunt seen by fans outside Thorpe Park at the launch of the UK’s new tallest and fastest roller coaster Hyperia in 2024.
From heartfelt dedications and secrets delivered to the cosmos, to big reveals or even just funny one-liners, the Lancashire theme park is inviting everyone to take part and is hoping for submissions from people of all ages.
Speaking about the park’s upcoming history making mission, Amanda Thompson OBE – CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort Blackpool said;
“We’ve always pushed boundaries when it comes to thrilling our guests, and we wanted to mark Launch Pad’s re-imagining with something bold, ambitious, and truly unforgettable. So we thought… why not go to space?
“This is about giving people the chance to say something meaningful, heartfelt or hilarious, and knowing that even for a moment, your voice made it all the way to space.
“It’s going to be emotive, it’s extreme, and it’s truly a ride into the unknown.”
Speaking further about the park’s upcoming partnership with Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Dr Chris Rose – head of projects at Sent Into Space said;
“We’ve pulled off some incredible feats in space, but this collaboration with Pleasure Beach Resort is something special. As a beloved British institution known for pushing limits, it’s brilliant to see them inviting the public to take part in a world-first moment.
“The journey this screen will take is as extreme as any white-knuckle ride, and we’re proud to help make it happen!”
Blackpool Pleasure Beach has also revealed that certain lucky participants may even be invited to be filmed delivering their message while riding Launch Pad itself, but more importantly, who are Sent Into Space?

To participate you can either submit a video clip sharing your message up to 20 seconds in length, or alternatively you can also submit writted messages too.
The deadline for online submissions is Friday 8th August, however if you’re not great with technology and would still like to join in don’t worry, the park will also be offering guests the chance to record their messages in person too at a special ‘mission control’ booth outside Launch Pad on Monday 11th August.
2026 will also see Blackpool Pleasure Beach break even more records too as they launch the UK’s TALLEST Intamin Gyro Swing, Aviktas which will reach heights of up to 138ft, swing up to 120 degrees both ways and seat up to 40 riders per cycle.
No opening date has yet been set for next year’s new attraction but construction of the new ride is now well and truly underway and further news surrounding what we can expect will be shared in due course.
