The park have announced the addition of a FIFTH scare attraction to their Journey to Hell: Freak Nights 2025 line up this spooky season, and this one is set to do more than just scare you.

Abyss, this year’s chilling new scare attraction, set to take place inside Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s iconic River Caves attraction will tease fans with new details regarding what they can expect from the park’s upcoming 2026 Intamin Gyro Swing Aviktas in 2026 including more about the storyline behind the new ride.

The attraction is however set to be “infested by demons” this Halloween as Blackpool Pleasure Beach invites those brave enough to take on their latest new scare attraction Abyss!

Journey to Hell: Freak Nights is set to kick off on October 23rd and is already set to feature 4 other terrifying scare attractions including ride overlays and walk through experiences.

These will consist of the following;

  • ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ – sees the park’s usually beloved Alice in Wonderland ride transformed into a nightmarish world where Alice and friends have gone insane. Grotesque figures lurk around every corner of the ride, hoping to terrify unsuspecting guests into madness.
  • ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ – isthe lair of a macabre collector and home to the inexplicable and the bizarre. Each gruesome creature is more disturbing than the last and guests must flee through a maze of horrors.
  • ‘The Ghost Train: Vault of Shadows’ – returns for its third year, but this time it has been updated with new characters and a new storyline. It is set inside the world’s first Ghost Train; notoriously one of the most haunted attractions in the world and said to be haunted by ‘Cloggy’, a former ride operator whose footsteps can still be heard.
  • ‘Twisted Tunnels’ – takes place in a 100-year-old network of tunnels that were once used to travel between rides. Guests will discover they are not alone as they navigate the winding, Victorian-esque passageways beneath the disembodied noises of the theme park above.

As well the five scarezones on offer, those brave enough to enter Blackpool Pleasure Beach this Halloween will also have chance to enjoy some of the park’s other iconic rides and attractions in the dark too.

These are said to include Launch Pad, the Grand National rollercoaster, Derby Racer, and Flying Machines. In previous years rides such as Infusion, Icon and The Big One have also been included in the roster, however 2025 sadly doesn’t seem to include these.

If that wasn’t enough to entice you, Journey to Hell is also set to feature live entertainment including roaming actors, the witch parade, and the return of Lougarock, the seven foot tall Werewolf.

Halloween themed food and cocktails are also set to be available too meaning guests will have the chance to enjoy some much needed refreshment between the chills and thrills this Halloween.

Speaking about this year’s Journey to Hell offering Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s CEO Amanda Thompson OBE has said;

“Last year’s Journey to Hell events were our best ever, and we knew we had to raise the bar yet again.”

“River Caves has its own unique, 120-year-old legacy, so transforming it into the terrifying ‘Abyss’ for Halloween allows people to experience it in a completely new way, ahead of its re-imagining.”

“Our thrilling rides and our own eerie history set us apart from other scare attractions, and this year promises to be a Halloween event unlike any other.”

Journey To Hell: Freak Nights will take place between October 23rd and November 1st and will be separate from the park’s daytime offering taking place after park close.

Tickets for this year’s event start at £39.50 per person & can be booked via the park’s official website HERE should you be brave enough!
