Yorkshire Scare Ground 2024 - What Can You Expect?
Yorkshire Scare Grounds 2024 – A firm staple of every Halloween season and this year is set to be no different.
The iconic annual scream park based on Hell Lane near Wakefield (run by Fearmasters Studios Entertainment) returns for yet another year bringing with it fun, thrills and chills in equal measure.
This year Yorkshire Scare Grounds is set to play host to 4 scaremazes & 3 scarezones and each one looks as fantastic (and frightening) as the next.
As well as the attractions this year will also see the return of the Battle Axe throwing arena, Jack’s Backyard Bar, Fear 2 Photo and more.
So what can you expect from this year’s line up? Let’s take a closer look!
Carnival of Carnage (Scarezone).
Carnival of Carnage is the first of many frightening experience you will encounter throughout your run through of Yorkshire Scare Grounds this year.
The killer clown themed themed outdoor scarezone tells the tragic tale of an untimely demise for a local traveling circus, however all is not as it first seems;
“June 22, 1920, the Rellik Brothers Circus was cut down in transit to their next show location. The members and the circus itself strewn across the tracks and reduced to splinters after a fatal clashing of trains…and since then their story has been reduced to nothing more than hearsay and whispers;
locals referring to the crash site as ‘The Carnival of Carnage’. But these performers do anything but rest. Twisted and mangled corpses have begun to reanimate with the taste for human flesh!
Or so they say, the locals made a game of it to test the legend and venture into those woods as a test of nerve. Yet none have returned…Dare you disturb the Carnival of Carnage?”
Will you be brave enough to traverse the Carnival of Carnage this Halloween?
Die Clocke - Scaremaze
After making it through the Carnival of Carnage ‘alive’ you’ll then have the chance to take on your first indoor scaremaze – Die Clocke!
This war horror themed scaremaze tells the story of a machine bringing those long thought lost back to the current timeline with a “feral rage” and thirst to win the war, at ANY cost!
“A mystery buried within the historical texts of the war. 80 years later, and there has still been no sightings of it, or those who went missing along with it all those years ago…Until now…
It’s been reported as having reappeared, and what’s worse, what came out of it is reported nothing short than infernal.
Those who go in, are not the same as those who come out. Their faces stricken with the blackness of an evil awakened through their meddling with the very threads of reality itself, they emerge from the machine with a feral rage.
Brutally attacking and killing whoever they set their eyes upon. And yet…these crazed doctors continue their sick testing – even on their own soldiers – desperate to win the war they left behind 80 years ago…even if it means using YOU for their testing.”
Will you be brave enough to explore this long thought lost scientific facility this Halloween?
The Harvest: Keepers of the Corn (Scarezone).
The Harvest: Keepers of the Corn returns for another terrifying year of chills (soaking wet ones to be precise) and thrills.
This outdoor Killer Scarecrow themed scarezone is always great fun, not only to traverse yourselves but also to watch others go through too.
“The corn fields have always been a thing of great mystery…the storks stretch high and can provide a shield for a myriad of sinister forces.
They are barren places…lived in only by the corn, and watched by the overseers…the scarecrows. But what do you do when they begin to move? Or worse yet, when they begin to attack..?
Abandoning the fields and roaming the forest, just be careful what’s lurking in the shadows, as the Keepers of the Corn are on the lookout for their next prey!”
The Harvest: Keepers of the Corn returns for it’s second year on the trot after being very popular with those visiting in 2023.
TOXIC (Scarezone).
TOXIC is a chilling new scarezone for 2024 and will more than likely replace the previous undead themed scarezone directly after The Harvest.
Although we’re expecting many of the props and set pieces with this one to remain the same the new storyline certainly sounds like it will work very well with what’s already there.
“The CBRC is tasked with the most very dangerous of containment assignments. Every plague, chemical, and fallout is seen to by them.
However, they could never have predicted the explosive to have laid dormant, until they were right upon it. And the blast was the least of their concerns…It released some kind of agent into the air.
One that burns from the slightest touch. Asphyxiates with the shallowest breath. And one that reduces one to insanity with the slimmest moment of exposure.
Horrifically burned, bloodied, melted and mad they now stalk like corpses through this cursed blast sight. Dare you risk joining the contaminated ghouls that remain..?”
TOXIC still feels very ‘zombie’in it’s storyline, but the contamination theme certainly has us curious to find out more that’s for sure!
Whitechapel Un-Dead (Scaremaze - Outdoor & Indoor mix).
Whitechapel Un-Dead is the second NEW scaremaze of 2024 and will utilise the outdoor/indoor mix ‘village’ set.
Over the past 2 years the story of Whitechapel has been the main focal point for this set with the first year playing host to Jack The Ripper and the second, vampires.
This year the undead torment Whitechapel and they’re out for human flesh!
“Death is the only constant that can truly be depended upon. However the streets of Whitechapel, constantly under the rain cloud of misery and misfortune, were to yet again fall under the tyranny of another killer…
The undertaker was booming after the spree of the Ripper. However the graves of the recently dead have found themselves empty…and the dead walk once more hungry for flesh..
Poor or noble alike, no one can escape the rotted jaws of death…Sickness is common place on these grungy streets, but the people of London haven’t seen any plague such as this…Can you survive the night..?”
Will you escape the undead stalking Whitechapel this Halloween?
Krampus Rewrapped (Scaremaze)
Krampus returns to Yorkshire Scare Grounds once again this year bringing with him his usual twisted take on the festive period.
Last year the indoor Krampus themed scaremaze proved very popular with those visiting and therefore it made sense that the attraction should return this year too.
“Certa…Perchten….Black Peter…There’s many names he’s been christened with over the years. The tales of his cruelty spread world wide, transcending all boundaries of culture and seemingly even generation.
For as long as time itself they have spoke whispers of his seasonal torment…his beatings…his punishments!
His legion of tainted elves follow his every command, corrupted to his will, and eager to bring his new subjects to torment – or as he calls it – correct.
Krampus sees you when you’re sleeping.. he knows when you’re awake…so have you been naughty or nice this year?”
Will you manage to escape Krampus this Halloween at Yorkshire Scare Grounds?
Asylum: Haunted Hallways (Scaremaze).
Who doesn’t love exploring a haunted asylum right? Well, that’s exactly what you can expect from this year’s final scare attraction.
Asylum Haunted Hallways (formerly the Clown Asylum last year) re-purposes the existing indoor asylum themed scaremaze with a whole new spooky theme.
“Asylums are always remembered as a stepping stone in the history of medicine…however what is often overlooked is the cruelty and the horrors that laid within their confines.
Famine, poor sanitary standards and beatings were all common place within the walls of these hellish hospitals…with many falling victim and succumbing to their sickness or injuries, just as soon as they arrived.
Ghosts are the things of speculation and stories…however with a site of such horror and inhumane practices…if such things were to exist, sure they would be within such a place…A shadow out of the corner of your eyes…Items moving without any visibly touch…The shriek of a phantom unseen…Dare you test the legends? After all, there’s no such thing as ghosts…”
This creepy final scaremaze also has a rather unexpected ending to it too – if you know you know!
What Else Can You Expect From Yorkshire Scare Grounds 2024?
So, you braved the horrors that lie within and somehow, you’ve managed to make it through alive and unscathed! What can you expect at the finish line (so to speak)?
As well as the above experience Yorkshire Scare Grounds also offers a whole host of other delights to enjoy after you’ve braved the terror.
Jack’s Backyard offers a full bar service giving you the chance to take 5 and settle those nerves with something a tad stronger.
Battle Axe throwing is also back for 2024 and offers the chance (at an upcharge) to enjoy a spot of axe throwing as well as a night of chills.
If you’re feeling a bit peckish (like we usually do) then there is also a range of hot and cold food and sweet options on offer as well as hot drinks and more.
Finally, if you fancy commemorating the evening then you can do so either via visiting the merch stall at the end or you can ‘take a photo’ in the attractions interactive photo booth.
Toilets and free parking are included with your visit too and last year also saw the introduction of a stage showcasing live music and more next to Jack’s Backyard!
How Much Will It Cost To Visit?
Okay, so we’ve told you what’s included, we’ve covered the attractions and we’ve showed you everything else, but we know what you’re asking – how much will it cost me to visit? Right?
Tickets for Yorkshire Scare Grounds 2024 are priced from £26.00 to £28.00 per person, per night depending on when you visit.
The attraction is set to be open almost daily from October 11th all the way through until November 3rd with some days expected to be a lot busier than others.
Your ticket does (as mentioned before) include parking therefore you also won’t have to worry about that extra charge and if you think the scares are contained to just the attractions? Well, you’re in for a surprise that’s all we’re going to say!
Overall, Yorkshire Scare Grounds is an absolute MUST for any die hard horror fan this Halloween and if you’re a regular like us, then you’re going to love this year’s line up that’s for sure.
