Six Flags Great Adventure NEW Ride Opening Date Announced.
Six Flags Great Adventure have officially announced the opening date for their NEW ride and fans don’t have too much longer to wait!
The park have unveiled they plan to open North America’s FIRST Vekoma Rides Super Boomerang – Flash: Vertical Velocity later this month.
The new ride will be the first new addition to open at the New Jersey based theme park following the recent demolition of the park’s iconic World’s Tallest roller coaster, Kingda Ka.
In an official update yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 04th March 2025) Six Flags Great Adventure revealed that thrill seekers can look forward to stepping aboard their BRAND NEW thrill coaster on Saturday March 29th, 2025.
Speaking about their new ride on their official website, Six Flags Great Adventure state the following;
“Race to the sky with the Fastest Man Alive on THE FLASH™: Vertical Velocity, a super boomerang coaster featuring THE FLASH. This coaster is the first-of-its-kind in North America and only the second in the world, making it as unique as the iconic speedster who inspired it.”
“Strap in for a breathtaking journey that propels you up to 60 miles per hour aboard an intricately designed train inspired by THE FLASH’s suit in a race like no other. Launching both forward and backward, you’ll ascend a towering 172 feet before speeding off into micro gravity as you’re turned upside down, nearly 100 feet off the ground. Feel the rush as you zoom through a 180-degree twisted drop followed by a Zero-G roll that leads you to the end of the track. But that’s not the end. Suddenly, you’re rushing backwards to experience it all over again in reverse.”
Flash: Vertical Velocity will not only be the first ride of it’s kind to open in the U.S, but will also be the second of it’s kind to open anywhere worldwide too with the first opening under the name of Cloud Shuttle at Fantawild Wonderland in Jiangsu, China in 2023.
Six Flags Great Adventure’s latest new ride will propel guests to speeds of up to 59 mph, reach heights of up to 172 ft, feature 2 inversions and will reach a whopping 4 G’s throughout it’s 1,430.4 ft of steel track.
The Super Boomerang is a more thrilling take on Vekoma Rides’ traditional family boomerang model mixing new elements and a much more imaginative ride layout to deliver a ride experience unlike anything you’ve seen from the traditional family boomerang.
