How To Keep The Kids Entertained This February Half Term!
February half term is almost upon us, and it often has people sat wondering “What to do?” with the kids to ensure that you don’t hear the dreaded line “I’m bored” in the first few minutes.
The theme parks may not be fully open for the main 2024 season however a lot of attractions will be opening with a series of special Half Term events (and rides in a limited capacity). However, we may be able to help!
This is ABSOLUTELY not a full list of attractions that are open or running events, but more a few of my top suggestions based on previous visits and the offerings in 2024 that I’m looking to experience.
Dinosaur Breakout – Drayton Manor (10th-20th February)
Dinosaur Breakout returns for its second year at Drayton Manor where you can walk with dinosaurs and enjoy a selection of rides including all the fun of Thomas Land!
I visited this event in 2023 and had a really good time. There was so much to see from a wide range of dinosaurs around the park to different shows including Rory’s Dino Disco!
This event was well spaced out with a good selection of dinosaurs to meet but be warned, these dinosaur meet and greets are not the longest so you will want to get there early to ensure you meet your favourites.
Last year also saw a Raptor Training show which was enjoyable (And of course, had a raptor meet and greet after)!
Pirate Takeover – Alton Towers (10th-25th February)
Arrrghh! The pirates of Mutiny Bay are returning to Alton Towers this February Half Term with their Pirate Takeover event.
Experience a selection of rides & attractions including Mutiny Bay & Sharkbait Reef whilst also taking in live entertainment and even discover your own treasure as part of a treasure hunt.
This event looks to be an interactive experience for all the family with most of the action taking place in Mutiny Bay – however other areas of the park such as Cbeebies Land are also open during this event.
This is an event I will be visiting at the end of the month so look out for a vlog & review when we do!
Festival Of Archery – Warwick Castle (10th-18th February)
Arrows at the ready at Warwick Castle this Half Term, its not the castle under siege though, it’s a festival dedicated to the Archers of Warwick!
Watch the castle archers in their skillful displays & compete in tournaments to see which archer is best in Warwick.
This event is home to live shows, interactive quizzes and even the chance to have a go at Archery yourselves!
On top of that, the castle is open including the Horrible Histories maze & Zog’s Playland. They even have a birds of prey show during the event.
I visited this event in 2023 for a walk around and found it quite pleasant. There was a wide range of events to experience and multiple shows during the day too.
It wasn’t overly busy and is one of the more peaceful half term experiences (Whilst still being quite exciting).
Those are some of my picks for the February Half Term in 2024. Will you be visiting these? Or are you looking to visit somewhere else? Let us know what your plans are!
