Aviktas Reaches New Milestone at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Aviktas – Pleasure Beach Resort’s NEW £8.72 million thrill ride has reached a new major milestone in it’s ongoing construction.
In a brand new release Pleasure Beach Resort have confirmed that construction of the UK’s tallest Intamin Gyro Swing is moving at a rapid rate.
Along with this the park’s skyline has dramatically transformed with the new ride now visible to passers by on Blackpool Promenade.
Pleasure Beach Resort confirm that 4 gigantic legs, each weighing in at 16 tonnes each have now been installed bringing their 88ft tall ride to life.
Those braving a ride on Aiktas can however look forward to reaching a total height of up to 138ft with the ride itself set to surpass the ride structure on either side by a further 50ft when operating.

As well as the physical ride structure those building Aviktas have also installed the new ride’s motor gear box this week too.
Alongside this both the brake disc which brings the ride to a stop and the maintenance platforms have also been installed.
The final piece of progress is the installation of Aviktas’ huge swinging golden arm which will hold the ride’s gondola, set to seat up to 40 riders per cycle.
Once operational Aviktas will arch a total of 120 degrees over the Fylde coast coastline becoming the tallest ride of it’s kind operating here in the UK!
Speaking about the ride’s arrival at the park and the latest progress being made on it’s build, Amanda Thompson OBE – CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort has said;
“creating unforgettable experiences, and keeping Blackpool at the heart of UK tourism.”
As well as this those excited to ride Aviktas next year have also been taking to social media sharing their thoughts and first reactions to the news.
One fan named Laura Morley wrote “That thing is a monster! Can’t wait to see it up and running.” whilst another named Sue Richardson wrote “That’s a big swing! I’m getting War of the Worlds vibes.”
An opening date for Aviktas has yet to be set but it is confirmed the new ride will open in time for Pleasure Beach Resort’s 130th anniversary next year.
Pleasure Beach has also announced a special VIP preview event where fans can be the first to ride Aviktas, priced at £50 – although the date is still to be announced.
