Parc Astérix Sets Opening Date For New Coaster.

Parc Astérix have set an official opening date for their latest new roller coaster Cétautomatix – a Gerstlauer Spinning Coaster.

The new ride will open to the public for the first time this coming Monday 18th August and will be the park’s NINTH operating roller coaster once open.

The highly accalimed family theme park based just outside Paris and themed to an iconic French comic book antagonist of the same name already plays home to such rides as Oziris, Tonnerre 2 Zeus, Goudurix and their last new addition Toutatis – an Intamin Multi-Launch roller coaster.

Their latest new attraction is set to have a somewhat automotive theme and given the ride’s stats it’s safe to say this new ride will air more on the family side rather than the thrill side reaching speeds of up to 28 mph and heights of up to 46ft overall.

Cétautomatix is themed around a ‘chariot garage’ run by one of the side characters in Astérix’s village known for his work as the town smith/technician.

The new ride also replaces the park’s former MACK Rides Car Ride Nationale 7 which first opened at the park in 1992 & has been removed to make way for Cétautomatix introduction.

This new family friendly ride also features 0 inversions too, but does appear to encompass some tight twists and turns meaning riders should get quite a bit of spin throughout.

Overall Cétautomatix looks set to be yet another great addition to this French theme park and will further expand on the world of Astérix featured in the book series Astérix The Gaul (the series of books the park is said to be themed around).

Will YOU be paying a visit to Parc Astérix for the opening of Cétautomatix? Or do you plan to visit for your first rides in the coming months? Let us hear your expectations for the new ride in the comments below!
