Universal Kids Resort NEW Details Revealed!
Universal Kids Resort is set to open in Frisco, Texas next year & NEW details have just been revealed sharing more about what families can expect from this first of it’s kind Universal family theme park in 2026!
The new family theme park resort operated and owned by Universal Studios will feature an array of family friendly themed lands and attractions all themed around popular IP’s such as Shrek, Spongebob Squarepants and Minions to name but a few.
Speaking about their family theme park, Universal Studios state the following;
“Universal Kids Resort is an all-new theme park that inspires the unbridled creativity of kids through play, discovery, and imagination in a way that engages the whole family.”
“Opening 2026 in Frisco, Texas, this first-of-kind resort is specifically designed and developed for families with young children. Enjoy Universal Destinations & Experiences’ iconic brand of entertainment, adventure and fun, bringing to life beloved characters and stories in ways that will just wow the youngest theme park goers in a totally inclusive way.”
Along with the above Universal Destinations and Experiences have also shared further details about the characters and lands that will feature within Universal Kids Resort.
Universal Kids Resort marks a new step forward for Universal Destinations and Experiences in evolving and innovating their theme park experiences catering for dynamic, new audiences worldwide.
2025 will also see the opening of Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas, Nevada – a spooktacular NEW, all year round horror attraction centered around iconic Universal horror IP’s such as Universal Monsters, Exorcist Believer and Texas Chainsaw Massacre to name but a few.
This latest new theme park is the next step Universal’s ambitious ongoing global expansion with the UK seemingly up next to receive a new, major Hollywood style theme park resort in the heart of Bedfordshire by 2030.
Universal Kids Resort was however first unveiled back in January 2023 and formally received planning approval in March of the same year. As soon as approval was received, ground works began immediately and new the park reportedly remains on schedule to open next year.
As well as a full theme park featuring six themed lands, Universal Kids Resort will also feature a 300 room onsite hotel, Character meet & greet opportunities and so much more.
Lands within the park will be themed to the following;
- Jurassic World
- Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants
- Illumination’s Minions
- Dreamworks’ Shrek
- Dreamworks’ Trolls
- Dreamworks’ Puss in Boots
Alongside the above there is also set to be a Park Hub complete with it’s very own Dreamworks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse for kids and families to explore alike.
The main target audience for Universal Kids Resort is also said to be those aged between 3 and 11 years of age meaning all themed lands will cater to Universal Destinations & Experiences’ chosen demographic.
Finally, it’s expected that Texas’ latest new theme park should attract an average daily footfall of between 7,000 and 10,000 visitors per day with weekend’s potentially attracting more.
