Thorpe Park Resort announces two exciting new events as part of it's planned 2022 events line up for this year!
Thorpe Park Resort (Aka. The Island Like No Other) have yesterday (Feb 10th 2022) unveiled their plans for the park’s 2022 events offering.
The park took to their social channels yesterday evening to announce plans for an exciting new offering of annual events at the resort this year, and with it came the news of two brand new additions to the park’s annual roster this season!
Mardis Gras (previously seen attempted at Alton Towers in 2021) and Carnival (a brand new event to any UK Merlin owned property) are set to join Oktoberfest and Fright Nights at Thorpe Park This year.
So, what can you expect from these brand new additions and when will they be available for you to visit?

Mardis Gras - May 19th to June 19th.
“Spice up your life as we bring you a taste of New Orleans with our BRAND-NEW Mardi Gras event! Running everyday from 19th May – 19th June”
Previously seen attempted at Alton Towers in 2021, Mardis Gras will aim to bring the colourful vibes of this traditional New Orleans based festival to the Island like no Other for the very first time!
Expect street performers, colourful costumes and party vibes aplenty as well as a whole host of food choices from around the globe if the previous attempt was anything to go by.
Mardis Gras kicks off the park’s 2022 events line up in style!
Carnival - July 22nd to August 28th.
“Laugh, scream and launch into a summer like no other as we debut our NEW feel-good Carnival event! Running everyday from 22nd July – 28th August”
Carnival (the second of 2 brand new additions for this season) looks set to replace the park’s previous 2021 Summer offering Park Vibes for their Summer season.
Although not much appears to be available about what we can expect, it’s safe to say the logo hints at traditional fairground carnival vibes.
If this is indeed the case then it’s probably fair to say we can likely expect plenty of street performers, circus acts and musical atmosphere aplenty.

Oktoberfest - September 2nd to the 25th.
“Dust off your lederhosen and prepare to yodel louder as Oktoberfest returns for another awesome autumn! Prost! Running on selected dates from 2nd – 25th September”
Oktoberfest will bring back a touch of Bavaria to the Island Like No Other for the third time this coming September as the resort is plunged head long into a month of Oompah music, lederhosen clad street performers and traditional Bavarian food and drink aplenty.
This traditional Bavarian staple has proven one of the park’s most successful annual events in recent times as many have flocked to the park to experience this exciting addition for themselves since it premiered at the resort back in 2020.
This September let your imagination run wild and party Bavarian style with the return of the resort’s highly acclaimed take on this traditional Austrian staple festival.
Fright Nights - 1st to the 31st of October.
“Pray you don’t have the key to the door or risk unlocking your deepest, darkest nightmares as our award-winning Halloween event FRIGHT NIGHTS returns for a 21st birthday celebration like no other! Running on selected dates from 1st October – 31st October”
It’s safe to say that this final addition needs no introduction!
Fright Nights has fastly become the resort’s most acclaimed annual event since it first premiered at the resort in 2001 and features some of the most terrifying and highly immersive actor lead horror mazes at any UK based theme park to date.
Face your fears as you enter an unforgiving world of terror and frights that only Thorpe Park can deliver this Halloween season with the return of Fright Nights for it’s 21st year!
