Seaworld Orlando Announce Opening Date For Penguin Trek - Their NEW 2024 Roller Coaster!
Seaworld Orlando have announced an official opening date for their NEW 2024 roller coaster Penguin Trek – the park’s latest new thrill ride from Swiss ride manufacturers Bolliger & Mabillard.
The new ride will make up the star attraction in the park’s newly created Antarctica land and will feature 2 LSM launches, speeds of up to 43 mph and a mix of indoor and outdoor ride sections.
Penguin Trek will also reach heights of up to 65 ft, span a total length of 3020 ft from beginning to end and feature a height restriction of 42″ (107 cm).
In an official release Seaworld Orlando detail what guests can expect when riding Penguin Trek and it’s safe to say this thrilling new family roller coaster sounds fantastic!
“Launch into an Antarctic Adventure from Spring 2024. This will be the coolest research mission you’ve ever joined! Prepare for Penguin Trek, an unforgettable family launch coaster adventure through the breathtaking vastness of Antarctica. Race along with your team through twists and turns, narrowly escaping the hazards of an icy cavern before reaching the ultimate discovery: a real penguin habitat!
This new indoor/outdoor ride is the most immersive addition to the Coaster Capital of Orlando. It’s a thrilling expedition with speeds up to 43 miles per hour, but with a height requirement of just 42”, it’s the perfect journey for families to share!” – Seaworld Orlando.
Penguin Trek is also set to be Bolliger & Mabillard’s FIRST EVER family multi-launch roller coaster too and makes up the latest new family thrill ride to be manufactured by the Swiss ride manufacturer in the past three years.
Other family thrill prototypes such as Phoenix Rising at Busch Gardens Tampa and Mandrill Mayhem at Chessington World of Adventures have also seen B&M focus less on the thrill and more on the family audience in recent years.
In an official update yesterday Seaworld Orlando confirmed Penguin Trek will officially open it’s air gates to the public on July 7th 2024.
The new thrill ride is also the second B&M prototype roller coaster to be added to the park in the last two years too with Pipeline The Surf Coaster also opening to the public in 2023.
