Eagles Claw LEAVES Lightwater Valley?
Has Lightwater Valley removed Eagles Claw – their last remaining thrill ride for 2025?
Rumours of Lightwater Valley removing a certain thrill ride have recently begun to circulate online and upon looking into this ourselves it looks as though these ‘rumours’ could infact sadly be true.
Eagles Claw – one of the last remaining thrill rides to have survived Brighton Pier Groups’ target audience shift could well have quietly left the park over the 2024 closed season.
The KMG Afterburn formerly featured as part of Lightwater Valley’s Eagles Creek line up appears to have had any mention of it removed from the park’s official website.
Upon researching this further we can also see that the former web page featuring the attraction’s info also seems to come up as “not found” when searched directly.

Alongside this, sources at the park have also confirmed to us that Eagles Claw reportedly no longer features on any of Lightwater Valley’s upcoming 2025 promotional material.
Now, although the park have yet to officially confirm Eagles Claw’s removal, all current evidence of the attraction’s departure follows the same narrative as past removals such as Lightwater Valley’s iconic indoor roller coaster – Raptor Attack and The Ultimate which also underwent the same, dramatic online removal too.
With this in mind, this final blow marks the end of the park catering to those over the age of 7 as most attractions now featured will not (in our opinion) cater to the top end of their chosen demographic.
This means that older siblings could well be left feeling bored and out of sorts while their younger counterparts enjoy the park’s many, child focused rides and attractions on offer.
Eagles Claw first opened at Lightwater Valley back in 2004 and used to be one of the park’s most popular attractions alongside the other former thrill rides, but with the ride now looking removed it’s only a matter of time before the new target audience either makes or breaks North Yorkshire’s iconic family theme park.
We have reached out to Lightwater Valley for comment and at present have still yet to receive an official response, however as soon as we do we’ll be sure to update you all here on Theme Park Insanity.
In the meantime, why not join us for a ride below with our official on ride POV of Eagles Claw filmed during our visit to the park last season (2024).
