Disney Announce NEW Seventh Theme Park For Abu Dhabi!

Disney have announced a NEW seventh theme park for Abu Dhabi! The ground breaking new theme park will be entirely ground up and will serve as an expansion on Yas Island’s current tourist attraction portfolio.

The new Disneyland theme park was announced yesterday (Wednesday 07th May 2025) by Disney Experiences, the company responsible for building and opening Disney theme parks worldwide.

Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be opened in partnership with Miral, the company already responsible for operating other well known tourist destinations on Yas Island such as Seaworld and Warner Bros. World.

Miral will be responsible for the day to day running of the theme park and will work closely with Disney and the company’s imagineers to ensure all standards are met where Disney owned theme parks are concerned.

This therefore means that Disney will not have ultimate control over the park itself similar to Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan and will only hold stakes in the resort instead.

Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be Disney Experiences’ seventh theme park destination once open and will make up part of Yas Island, a destination already known for featuring Seaworld and Warner Bros. World.

Upon announcing Disneyland Abu Dhabi, Josh D’Amaro, chair of Disney Experiences stated;

“Our resort in Abu Dhabi will be the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio. The location of our park is incredibly unique – anchored by a beautiful waterfront – which will allow us to tell our stories in completely new ways,”

Disneyland Abu Dhabi is also said to feature “storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi”.

Overall this new Disney destination looks truly unique in comparison to the rest of the companies current portfolio with their seventh park set to feature a castle mildly reminiscent of the Frozen Ice Castle from the first film.

As well as this we’d expect this ground up tourist destination will take some time to build and open too given the grand scale of what’s proposed meaning it’ll be some time before we finally see Disney’s new theme park come to fruition.

The announcement of Disney Abu Dhabi follows the recent confirmation by Universal Destinations & Experiences that Universal Studios Great Britain will infact proceed and open in time for 2031.

No official opening date has yet been set for Disney’s latest new park either, therefore be sure to subscribe to our blog to avoid missing out on any future news updates regarding this and other major theme park projects across the world right here on TPI!
