Belgian Theme Park Accidentally Leaks New Ride Name!

A Belgian theme park have accidentally leaked the name for their NEW 2025 ride. The new ride which is set to open at a park in Belgium later this year has officially had it’s ride name leaked by the very park trying to keep it secret.

The news of the park’s chosen name for their new ride officially broke online this morning (Friday 24th January 2025) following the park reportedly accidentally leaking the name by updating their website with new information ‘ahead of schedule’.

Following this, the name was revealed by PCW.News on Facebook and many other theme park fans also jumped on new details to share the news themselves.

The park in question also currently plays host to many other stand out rides and attractions, mostly more suited to older guests.

In the twist of fate, fans of Walibi Belgium had the fortune of learning the official name of the park’s upcoming new launched family roller coaster, set to open later this year.

Mecalodon – the NEW Gerstlauer Ride Family multi-launched roller coaster will make up the star attraction of the park’s new for 2025 area, Dock World.

The park itself is officially set to welcome guests back from April 5th and already features popular rides such as Pulsar, Calamity Mine and of course Kondaa – the park’s 2021 Intamin Mega Coaster (also the last roller coaster to open at the park).

Mecalodon will reach family friendly speeds of up to 40 mph, heights of up to 49 ft, feature 1 LSM launch and 2 LSM boosts and replaces the park’s former Intamin tow boat ride – Gold River Adventure.

Walibi Belgium recently shared some official construction shots of Mecalodon on their official social media showing both the track and some of the new land’s surrounding theming structures (pictured below).

Following the new name’s reveal it appears upon further inspection that Walibi Belgium have now removed it (and the accompanying artwork) from their website, but for a brief time fans were given their first glimpse at what they can expect from Walibi Belgium’s upcoming new ride.

The ride trains also resemble mechanical sharks and this could well play into the theme of the ride and the park’s chosen name – Mecalodon (Mechanical Megalodon?)

Here’s a closer look at the new artwork and name revealed online this morning below…..
