Alton Towers Resort officially confirm the opening date for The World of David Walliams and the area's headline ride!
This morning (Weds March 24th 2021) Alton Towers Resort have finally confirmed the opening date for their 2021 addition – The World of David Walliams.
The brand new area (formerly Cloud Cuckoo Land) will officially open to the public as of Monday May 17th 2021 with the area’s brand new headline ride Gangsta Granny: The Ride also set to welcome riders that day too.
The good news finally comes after well over a years delay due to the current pandemic as the resort’s new area should have originally opened back in 2020.
The decision was however taken by the resort back in Spring of last year to delay the opening until this current situation improved.
The World of David Walliams is set to include three rides in total – The Royal Carosel, Raj’s Bouncy Bottom Burp and Gangsta Granny: The Ride as well as the infamous corner shop Raj’s shop (set to be a gift shop) and so much more besides.

This exciting new addition for the 2021 season makes up just one of many other new additions to look forward to this season here in the UK.
It is also now believed that the resort will require all children aged over 6 years of age to wear face masks on resort now too, however it isn’t yet clear if this only applies whilst experiencing the rides.
