Adventure Cove River Rapids - Now Open at Drayton Manor!
Adventure Cove – Drayton Manor’s brand new area based next to the park’s entrance first opened to the public on July 30th of this year.
There was one ride however which failed to open during the grand opening, and that was the brand new River Rapids Ride.
Since then speculation has been rife within the community as to when this new addition will indeed open.
In reality though, we didn’t actually have to wait too long at all!
Drayton Manor finally confirmed the opening date for their brand new addition yesterday (August 10th) as being the very next day (today).
This will be the first time this ride has re-opened to the public following it’s closure back in 2017 after the tragic accident which occurred on the 9th of May 2017.
Since then however the ride has received a complete overhaul placing the safety of it’s riders at the very forefront.
It is believed that the River Rapids has received brand new boats, alterations and more to ensure that all riders are kept secure and safe whilst onboard.
The ride has also had a complete makeover ensuring it fits in perfectly with the bright, cartoon-esque appeal of Adventure Cove.
Riders will now be taken on a cheerful, vibrant tour through the very heart of Adventure Cove as they traverse the town’s colourful high street and eye catching new surroundings.
Other new additions to the brand new area include Tidal Towers (a nautically themed adventure play area), Wave Swinger (a Zamperla Wave Swinger ride) and Shockwave (the park’s headline roller coaster) to name but a few.
