EXTINCTION - Blackgang Chine's Thrilling New Ride is Now Open!
Blackgang Chine – The UK’s oldest amusement park have officially opened their BRAND NEW for 2023 ride – EXTINCTION.
The iconic amusement park based on the Isle of Wight is set to celebrate it’s 180th anniversary this year and to do so, the park have added a thrilling new flat ride to their line up.
Extinction (manufactured by Zamperla) takes those brave enough soaring to new heights as it dangles them upside atop the Isle of Wight’s scenic cliff’s edge.
Extinction opened to guests with the park’s opening on March 25th 2023 and offers two different experiences depending on how brave you feel.
You can either choose to brave Extinction in it’s full, terrifying glory and dangle upside down 18 meters in the air (twice the height of the smuggler) or you can choose to take a none inverting swing on their new ride instead.
Speaking about Extinction, Dominic Wray – Parks Director at Blackgang Chine stated;

“Our rich and long heritage is a result of our commitment to pushing boundaries and staying ahead of the curve.
This is especially vital in the current climate where we have a cost-of-living crisis in the UK and the travel industry is still in a period of recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Extinction replaces the park’s former Cliff Hanger roller coaster and makes a fantastic NEW addition to the park’s ongoing family thrill line up.
