Alton Towers Resort announces brand new stacked events calendar for their 2021 season!
Known for some of the UK’s biggest and best seasonal theme park events Alton Towers has delivered year upon year with some truly memorable offerings including their highly popular Halloween Spooktacular Scarefest and their incredible fireworks season finale.
2020 also saw the inclusion of a brand new event in the form of Oktoberfest (an event which has now since been confirmed to be returning this season as well).
This year however the resort have not only announced TWO BRAND NEW EVENTS, but their packed 2021 calendar seems to take their already popular annual events offering to the next level!
Here’s what to expect from Alton Towers Resort in 2021.
Alton Towers Mardis Gras - May 22nd - June 20th.
Alton Towers Mardis Gras is a brand new festival inspired event set to come to Alton Towers Resort for the 2021 season.
This fantastic new addition to the resort’s events calendar will immerse guests into the indulgent festival of Mardis Gras boasting a rich selection of continental food and drink, colourful live entertainment and so much more.
Alton Towers have described their new event as a “carnival inspired takeover” and it’s fair to say that if the resort stay true to the annual festival’s origins then you can certainly expect exactly that.
Mardis Gras is set to start “takin’ it to the streets” on May 22nd of this year.
Alton Towers Ultimate Summer of Fun - Summer Holidays.
Not much is really know about this second brand new offering to date, however it’s safe to say that if the rest of the year is anything to go by then we’re almost certainly in for a treat this Summer!
Ultimate Summer of Fun is set to premier at the resort during the 2021 Summer Holidays and will almost certainly bring sun drenched vibes and a festival style atmosphere to Alton Towers Resort during in the resort’s peak season.
Although no official dates have been announced so far we imagine that going by ‘Summer Holidays’ being the projected time frame that the event will most likely take place between July and August this year.

Alton Towers Oktoberfest - September 11th - October 3rd.
Alton Towers’ incredible Bavarian inspired romp is back this September and we truly can’t wait to immerse ourselves into the Oktoberfest spirit as we drink, eat and make merry German style!
This fantastic event premiered for the very first time in 2020 as part of the Alton Towers’ 40th anniversary celebrations and was received with huge acclaim by all who experienced it.
Featuring everything from traditional Bavarian food and drink to live entertainment, Oompah music and some phenomenal street entertainment Alton Towers Oktoberfest is sure ti delight, thrill and excite all who attend.
As per most other events during the resort’s seasonal calendar Oktoberfest also gave visitors the chance to ride their favourite rides into the sunset giving for some truly memorable experiences.
Oktoberfest returns to the Alton Towers Resort on September 11th 2021!
Alton Towers Scarefest - 8th - 10th & 16th - 31st of October.
Hailed by the resort as “The UK’s favourite event” Scarefest, Alton Towers annual Halloween Spooktacular is confirmed to be returning this October.
Scarefest gives those brave enough to attend the chance to experience Alton Towers’ incredible scaremazes as well as check out some fantastically spooky entertainment, grab some much needed night rides and so much more.
Alton Towers Scarefest is quite possibly the resort’s most loved annual event overall and regularly brings millions to the resort each year all eager to pit their wits against the resort’s most sinister offerings.
Scarefest returns October 8th 2021!
Alton Towers Fireworks - 5th - 7th of November.
End the season with a BANG!
Alton Towers’ annual fireworks is set to return this season after sadly not going ahead in 2020 due to the current pandemic.
This phenomenal season finale incorporates a traditional fireworks display with lighting, sound and special effects to create a unique theatrical experience guests will not soon forget.
Aside from Scarefest Alton Towers Fireworks is usually the resort’s second biggest event and draws in crowds from all around to come and witness this incredible end to the theme park season.
Alton Towers Fireworks returns on November 5th 2021!
Christmas at Alton Towers - November 27th - December 23rd.
Christmas at the Alton Towers Resort usually offers everything from the incredibly popular Santa Sleepover to a small selection of theme park rides and attractions and even a visit to the big man himself – Mr C!
The resort’s festive offering will return this November as Alton Towers receives a magical winter wonderland make over to deliver one of the UK’s most loved festive theme park experiences.
This season however guests will also be able to experience the brand new Towers’ Christmas Markets.
This is something that until recently remained as a rumour only, however in a recent press release the resort has now confirmed this exciting new offering will indeed be going ahead.
It’s safe to say that Christmas at the Alton Towers Resort is shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever before packing more into their festive offering than the resort has done in previous seasons.
Christmas at Alton Towers returns this November 27th!
With so much on offer this season in the way of events Alton Towers’ annual calendar is by far shaping up to be one of it’s biggest and best yet!
As well as the inclusion of not one, but two brand new events it also appears that Alton Towers have really gone all out when it comes to creating the most memorable guest experience possible at every trun.
